Animal Ecosystem Chatterpix Projects
Usually an activity completed at the end of the school year, we've completed our projects in the fall due to some district curriculum changes. Our 2nd graders have worked hard to research and apply information on one of four ecosystems (grassland, wetland, desert, or ocean) and one specific animal that lives there. Students created the Chatterbox projects below to include as part of their zoo presentation. We hope you enjoy them!

After reading all ten of this year's Bill Martin Jr. nominees, 2nd graders got the opportunity to showcase their individual vote by creating a poster using an app called PicCollage. Although students had assistance with typing in their responses, each individual was responsible for taking the pictures, personalizing their poster, and uploading their collage into photos.

Kevin Henkes - Turning Mice into Media - 1st Trimester
2nd grade friends have continued to work on their Kevin Henkes “mouse books” projects. For this activity, students read one of the “mouse books” and identified the main character, the problem, and the message or lesson of the story. After turning their responses into a paragraph and creating an illustration students were instructed on how to navigate through the AudioBoom app. Students then had the challenge of recording and uploading their project INDEPENDENTLY!
